In July, 1946, the Jewish Resistance Movement was disbanded after the IZL blew up a wing of the King David Hotel in Jerusalem that housed the British administration offices. The IZL had warned the British before the explosion, but this information was not conveyed to the other building tenants. The Haganah agreed to the operation, but when more than ninety people died in the explosion, it ended its involvement with the IZL.
